AL PTO Board Elections
Calling all civic minded, roll your sleeves up, let’s get this done kind of people — Académie Lafayette Parent Teacher Organization (AL PTO) needs you!
The AL PTO election process will take place in the months of April and May, and we put out the call of motivated volunteers. The new structure starting with the 2019-2020 school year, calls for four (4) parents from each campus to represent all three campuses on the AL PTO board.
In election years, if you are interested in being on the AL PTO Board, you need to submit a short half page bio with the campus you wish to represent and reason for running to AL PTO President Leslie Kohlmeyer, firstname.lastname@example.org, by April 15.
Information will be posted on the AL PTO website with links distributed in the newsletter.
A special meeting is then held, allowing all candidates to speak and answer questions. Immediately following, electronic ballots for voting is made available. Voting takes place over a one-week period and then results are calculated.
If there are fewer candidates than there are open seats, there will be no need for a vote and all who run will be given the seat.
Areas of need for PTO:
Accounting professional for possible role as treasurer
Organizational wizard for possible role as events coordinator
Communications or Design Professional for possible role of Communications VP
